Marty was invited to play with the great Michael Henderson for his St. Louis appearance. Marty has also had the pleasure of playing with St. Louis legends Johnnie Johnson and Tommy Bankhead.

DAVID SPRUILL
saxophone and vocals

A self-taught, well-respected, poisonous sounding saxophonist, “King David” traces his musical influences to his childhood at home. He says his dad and his Uncle Leevy gave him the Blues with the jam sessions they would hold at the house, his mom exposed him to Jazz recordings at a very early age, his sister, Audrey turned him onto Motown, and his brothers, James and Jerome “fed him the funk”.
Later David teamed up with St. Louis Reggae drummer Eric Brown and the vibe of Reggae joined his soul.

David has played with St. Louis greats Willie Akins, Buzzy Martin, James Crutchfield, Tommy Bankhead, Rene Smith, and, Johnnie Johnson.

His wide range of musical styles has also allowed him to play with well-known St. Louis bands, such as the GD jam band, The Schwag, and the crucial Reggae band, Roots-N-Roots.
